Kia is preparing to launch the 2023 Seltos facelift in India, which is expected to feature a range of design and feature upgrades. Recently leaked spy shots have confirmed that the Indian model will come equipped with a panoramic sunroof. Since its debut in India in 2019, the Seltos has not undergone any significant updates. However, with the release of the facelifted version, Kia intends to compete with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, and MG Astor in the Indian market.
Although the Seltos facelift has already been launched in South Korea and the USA, the Indian version will have a distinct design, as confirmed by recent spy shots. While the car’s overall shape will remain unchanged, the front grille will be slightly redesigned and enlarged, and the rear will have a new tail light design. The top-end trims of the 2023 Seltos, featuring a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, will also include dual exhausts.
Car enthusiasts have eagerly anticipated the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof in the Indian version of the Kia Seltos, and exclusive spy shots shared by Anvish have confirmed that the upcoming facelifted model will indeed feature this highly-desired feature. The panoramic sunroof will enhance the vehicle’s premium appearance and feel. Although the current Seltos model includes a single-pane sunroof, its lack of a panoramic sunroof is particularly surprising when compared to its sibling, the Hyundai Creta, which offers one.
The 2023 Seltos facelift is likely to receive a major overhaul of its features list and variants lineup, making it even more luxurious than its previous iteration. The new model is set to include an array of impressive features, such as a spacious 10.25-inch infotainment screen, automatic climate control, cruise control, LED headlights, luxurious powered and ventilated front seats, rear AC vents for added comfort, a modern digital driver’s screen, a comprehensive 360-degree camera system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Recent test mules spotted in Hyderabad suggest that the India-spec Seltos will also incorporate ADAS.
Moreover, the 2023 Seltos facelift is set to feature the 1.5L turbo petrol engine with 158 bhp of power and 253 Nm of torque, giving an exciting performance. Two transmission options will be available, a 7-speed DCT automatic and a 6-speed manual. Other powertrain options will include a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine.
The launch of the Seltos facelift in India is expected around the festive season, and prices are expected to be similar to the current model, but higher-end trims with advanced features such as ADAS and a panoramic sunroof might be more expensive. The launch of the facelifted model is anticipated to boost Seltos sales figures and help Kia compete against its rivals in the fiercely competitive Indian market.
