Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, which was unveiled as the company’s premier motorcycle in January 2023, has undergone a price hike in the Indian market. All three variants of the motorcycle have seen an increase of approximately ₹6,000 in cost, with no modifications made to its features by Royal Enfield other than the price adjustment.
The ex-showroom prices for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 in the Indian market have been updated, with the entry-level Astral variant now priced at ₹3,54,398. The Interstellar variant now costs ₹3,69,622, while the high-end Celestial option is now available for ₹3,84,845. It is worth noting that all three variants have experienced a price increase, with no changes to their features.
Under the hood of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is powered by a 648cc parallel twin engine that employs air-oil cooling and features a 270-degree crank. The engine is capable of delivering 46 bhp of power at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque output of 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch. While this engine is the same as the one used in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield has made adjustments to the fueling and gearing specifically to cater to the Super Meteor 650’s needs.
Speaking of braking duties, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 gets a 320 mm disc brake in the front and a 300 mm disc brake in the rear, both of which are equipped with twin-piston floating calipers. The motorcycle’s chassis is built with a Steel Tubular Spine Frame, and its suspension system consists of 43 mm Upside Down Telescopic Forks in the front, which can provide 120 mm of travel, and twin shocks in the rear that offer 101 mm of travel and preload adjustment.
Meanwhile, the bike manufacturer is currently developing multiple new motorcycles, with plans to launch or reveal three of them this year. The upcoming models include the Shotgun 650, Himalayan 450, and the next-generation Bullet 350. While the Himalayan 450 is anticipated to make its debut later this year, the release dates for any of these models remain uncertain and could potentially face delays.
